Filling Pieces and KLABU continue their collaboration with the 'United Spirit' capsule collection for Keti Koti 2024, themed 'Family'. With the collection, the duo pays tribute to Surinamese culture in which family has a deep-rooted meaning.

Family at the core
Especially for Keti Koti, a Surinamese holiday celebrating the abolition of slavery, Filling Pieces and KLABU are coming up with a joint collection. Dutch label Filling Pieces, founded by Guillaume Philibert, is paying tribute to Suriname, the birthplace of Guillaume's parents, with this collaboration.
Something that is at the heart of Surinamese culture is family. Family symbolizes unity, passing on heritage, preserving traditions, and creating new ones. Each generation transmits knowledge, faces new challenges and stands up together against oppression, to realize freedom and the right to exist.
These themes are explored in the 'United Spirit' campaign, encouraging a journey of self-discovery and respect for one's roots. Together with KLABU, an international sports club that realizes sports activities for young refugees, Filling Pieces is coming out with its own designed 'United Spirit' shirts and a matching jacket.
Filling Pieces and KLABU
In celebration of their collaboration, KLABU and Filling Pieces have brought together 16 talented individuals of Surinamese and Caribbean descent, along with their friends and family, to celebrate the richness, diversity, and resilience of the diaspora. The theme 'Family' takes center stage.
The campaign features soccer legend and DJ Eljero Elia, rappers Architrackz and Latifah, and music producer FS Green, among others. Each shares their unique stories and experiences, highlighting the togetherness and enduring bonds of family.
The goal of the second collaboration between KLABU and Filling Pieces is to build a clubhouse in Suriname that supports local families through sports, education, and art.
The duo has collaborated in the past on several projects that have funded art and design workshops and some initial phase activities of the project.
