It looks like gaming is gradually making its way into the sneaker community, and adidas is responding with its next collaboration. On April 1, 2025, the first collection with Minecraft will be available, consisting of apparel, sneakers, and in-game activations.
Minecraft is arguably one of the biggest games of all time. The game is known for its blocky aesthetic and focuses on building villages, cities, and even entire worlds. Minecraft is so popular that the game is getting its first film adaptation this month: A Minecraft Movie.
The film is a production of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black. It is directed by Jared Hess, who is also known for films such as Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, and Masterminds. The cast also includes Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
A few weeks before the film’s release, Adidas announced that the brand would enter a multi-year partnership with Minecraft. The duo will introduce clothing and sneaker designs, as well as digital experiences within the Minecraft world. A perfect blend of gaming, sports, and culture.
To celebrate the film’s premiere, adidas is launching its first capsule collection on April 1, 2025, inspired by the movie. The collection features adidas' classic shirts, jackets, sneakers, and joggers, each designed in the game's signature style.
