Nike Air Max 1 'Since '72'

Nike Air Max 1 'Since '72' l HF4312-100

The Nike Air Max 1 'Since '72' has a classic look. The sneaker has a white upper made of premium mesh. Placed across the upper are beige, leather overlays that give the pair strength. The combination of beige with white gives the colorway a quiet base.

Red details, such as the Swoosh on the center panel and logos on the tongue and heel, contrast nicely with the upper. The sneaker comes with a yellowed midsole, which gives it a retro touch. The Air unit has a red color, as well as elements on the outsole and lace eyelets.

The insole features a graphic that reads 'Since '72'. Although Phil Knight, founder of Nike, was already involved in selling sneakers in 1964, he released his first sneaker in 1972. In 1978, Knight changed the name of his company from Blue Ribbon Sports to Nike.

Nike honours their rich history with the release of the 'Since '72' pack. Classic silhouettes have been redesigned in contemporary, natural colours. This bridges the gap between the past and Nike's innovative direction for the future. February 2024 saw the first images of an Air Max 1 colorway, which is part of the pack.

The visible Air Unit in the Nike Air Max 1 silhouette not only changed Nike's design, but it turned the entire sneaker world upside down. Because of this cushioning, Air Max became the norm, and no other brand has been able to imitate what the Swoosh managed in 1987.

It is therefore no surprise that Nike is coming out with an Air Max 1 for the 'Since '72' pack. Looking at the first images, we see a white mesh base with brown leather over the mudguard. The Swoosh really stands out as it has been given a red colour. In addition, this colour can also be seen on the Nike branding on the tongue. The insoles have a special 'Since '72' print and finally, the design is completed with a red and black outsole.
