Nike pays homage to Frank Rudy with Vapormax 'Air Pressure'
Following the release of a commemorative Nike Air Max 97 and a Air Max Scorpion, Nike once again pays homage to Frank Rudy. An engineer of NASA who presented the idea of adding an air unit to the midsole of Nike sneakers back in 1978. This time the brand with the Swoosh comes with the new Nike Air Vapormax 2021 ‘Air Pressure’. The is no release date yet but the sneaker is expected to be released in 2023.
The sneaker is a mix of ‘Old Royal’, ‘Yellow Ochre’ and ‘Red’ accents across a white flyknit upper. This comes together with a matte yellow TPU heel clip and blue Vapormax-branded tongue tabs. Other highlights of this sneaker include a blueprint graphic insole, pink pull tabs and ‘EST. 2021 branding on the Vapormax’s Air unit. Finishing the look is a pressure gauge hangtag and rubber outsole that shows the sustainable nature of the sneaker.
