Memphis Depay joins PUMA as an ambassador

Memphis Depay is joining the team of PUMA. The Dutch footballer left Under Armour in 2021 and will now work as an ambassador at PUMA. On March 2, 2022, PUMA's account posted a video showing Depay signing a contract.

Memphis Depay is perhaps one of the most versatile footballers today. In addition to having a talent for soccer, Depay has also released his own album "Heavy Stepper" (2020) and is known for his good taste in clothing off the playing field.

The collaboration with PUMA is therefore a logical step for Depay. From a young age the footballer has been a big fan of sneakers. When he was sixteen he signed his first contract and he could buy more sneakers with his money.

"The Louis Vuitton x Kanye West collab was dope," he says in an interview with Complex (2022). "I bought that with my first contract money, and it was directly gone." Even as an athlete, having a comfortable sneaker is a must. This is where the collaboration with PUMA comes in handy.

The footballer is positive about the collaboration and looks forward to the upcoming works. "I see what PUMA does, like supporting the athletes on and off the field. And for me that's super interesting, because I feel like they are a brand that is free, has an open mentality," Depay says.

What PUMA and Memphis Depay will come up with in the coming months is still unknown. Keep an eye on our release calendar to stay updated on this collaboration.
