March 26, 2024, is once again Air Max Day, a day celebrated in a big way by Nike to honor the iconic Air Max series. In previous years, we have seen the brand turn out with several unique releases on this day. One of these releases is the Nike Air Max 1 '86 'Royal'.
For 2024, it is already known that Nike will introduce an entirely new model, the Air Max DN. Recently, we saw basketball player LeBron James wearing the Air Max 1 '86 'Royal' on his feet during the game against the Washington Wizards the LA Lakers basketball player wore. Now, then, the sneaker officially has its release date.
At the very first Air Max Day in 2014, Nike introduced the Air Max 1 'Sport Red', featuring a midsole in neon volt and '3.26' on the tongue. For 2024, the brand revives this concept with the Air Max 1 '86, but this time in the other original 'Sport Royal' colorway.
The signature details of this look are retained for the upcoming design. However, we see a difference in colour, where the red overlays have been replaced by blue ones. In addition, we see the '3.26' branding on the tongue also in blue, which simultaneously refers to Air Max Day. Finally, the striking neon volt midsole has also been retained.
