Nike Cortez 'Oregon' l HF1435-300
The University of Oregon plays a major role in Nike's history. At this school, Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman got to know each other. Knight was very good at athletics and trained at a high level under Bowerman's guidance. After Knight had to stop training due to an injury, the pair founded Blue Ribbon Sports, a brand that was later named Nike.
Designed in 1968 by Bowerman, the Nike Cortez made its debut four years later at the Munich Olympics. The Nike Cortez 'Oregon' pays tribute to both the classic silhouette, and the colors of the University of Oregon.
The upper features a dark green color and combines mesh and suede materials, and the yellow, leather overlays on the heel contrast nicely with the upper. The tongue and heel feature the classic Nike logos.
