Pharrell Williams and NIGO are true partners in crime, and their latest Louis Vuitton collection proves this once again. Williams has been the Creative Director at Louis Vuitton since 2023, following the sudden passing of Virgil Abloh. After a few successful collections and runway shows, NIGO was brought in as a plus one for this one.
Louis Vuitton FW25
Less than a week ago, Pharrell Williams shared some images of the new Louis Vuitton collection on his Instagram account. The collection, titled Remember the Future, subtly referenced his friend and collaborator NIGO, who is said to have contributed to the collection.
Yesterday, Louis Vuitton kicked off Paris Fashion Week with their FW25 collection. The show took place at the Louvre Museum, recognizable by its glass pyramid roof, and was accompanied by a live orchestra, creating an impressive atmosphere. Artists such as Travis Scott, Idris Elba, Future, Skepta, and Adrien Brody were among the guests.
The Louis Vuitton FW25 collection blends Y2K inspiration with varsity jackets, suitcases, puffers, sneakers, and denim. Camouflage prints made a return on jackets and pants, while workwear vests were paired with luxurious monogram handbags.
The color pink played a prominent role in the Louis Vuitton FW25 collection this year, appearing on various items as well as throughout the runway’s overall styling. This striking hue reinforced the Y2K aesthetic and gave the collection a fresh, playful vibe.
The striking ButterSoft sneaker, a nod to Pharrell’s Ice Cream Boardflip and the Nike Cortez, garnered a lot of attention, along with the 2000s varsity jackets and flip-phone accessories. To close the show, unique pieces from Pharrell and NIGO’s personal archives were revealed. These will later be auctioned off via JOOPITER this week.
With the collection, the duo celebrates their long-lasting friendship, something I believe they’ve achieved perfectly. Check out some of the runway looks below. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for more updates from Paris Fashion Week.
