Nike keeps surprising us, and the new ‘Sea Glass’ pack is a prime example of that. This collection, designed specifically for women, gives three classics – the Nike Dunk Low, Nike Cortez, and Nike Air Force 1 Low – a futuristic makeover.
The standout feature? TPU cages – a translucent layer that wraps around the sneakers. On the Dunk Low and Air Force 1 Low, these cages cover most of the upper, while the Cortez goes for a subtler touch with TPU only around the Swoosh.
It’s definitely a bold look, but not everyone’s cup of tea. Personally, I find it a bit much – but here’s the cool part: the TPU elements are removable! Thanks to the pearly bubble fastenings, you can fully customise the sneakers. For me, that’s a huge win – sometimes you just want to strip things back to basics.
The rest of the design is super minimal. The Dunk Low and Air Force 1 Low rock a clean off-white base with platinum white accents, while the Cortez flips this colour scheme. The matte leather construction gives the sneakers a sleek look, and the reflective Swooshes add a subtle yet eye-catching twist.
What I really love, though, is the story behind the design. Nike took inspiration from the natural beauty of the ocean for this pack. The TPU cages mimic the look of washed-up sea glass, while the pearlescent Swooshes catch the light in a way that’s reminiscent of breaking waves.
The Nike ‘Sea Glass’ pack is expected to drop in spring 2025. Stay tuned for updates on the Sneakerjagers news page!
