Nike is coming out with a very special release. The Nike Kobe 4 'Girl Dad' takes inspiration from a photo of basketball player Kobe Bryant and his daughter who died in a helicopter crash in 2020. Vanessa Bryant shows the first images of the sneaker via her Instagram.
Nike continues its line with Kobe Bryant through Vanessa Bryant. Kobe played for the Los Angeles Lakers during his 20-year career and helped his team to the NBA championship five times. His daughter, Gianna 'Gigi' Bryant, adopted her father's talent and was a great basketball fan and player.
The Nike Kobe 4 'Girl Dad' release pays tribute to Gigi and Kobe's father-daughter relationship. The colorway takes inspiration from the last photo of Gigi and Kobe at a Los Angeles Lakers game. Kobe's outfit, featuring the orange WNBA hoodie and a Philadelphia Eagles beanie, is confirmed as the inspiration behind the release.
The sneaker has a chic look. The upper is turquoise suede, and silver details on the sole and heel give the shoe a unique touch. Kobe's back number is placed on the heel. On the inside of the tongue, 'Girl Dad' is placed in cursive letters.
The Nike Kobe 4 'Girl Dad' drops June 7, 2024, at SNKRS and select retailers. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers release calendar for updates.
