In 2024, there's one person who's certainly not sitting idle, and that's American graffiti artist Futura. He's already collaborated this year with brands like Crocs and Supreme, and Nike is also on that list. We saw the release of the Nike SB Dunk Low 'Bleached Aqua' in May 2024. Now, he's turning his attention to the Nike Jam, a sneaker that perfectly complements his artistic style and the focus on breakdancing.
Alongside the sneaker, he's drawn inspiration from hip-hop history to create a clothing line for breakdancers from Japan, America, and Korea. These athletes will be rocking the outfits during the Olympics. Plus, some clothing items will be available to the public, dropping at Nike and select retailers on 1 August 2024.
Futura x Nike Jam
The Nike Jam was first unveiled at the Nike On Air event in Paris in April 2024. This sneaker has been specially developed with technologies tailored for breakdancing. Its most striking feature is the inverted Swoosh on the sole, which transforms to the normal upright logo during breakdance moves.
Futura's artistic signature is evident in the design, with his distinctive explosive splashes and spots in shades of pink, red, orange, and concord purple, previously seen on the Nike SB Dunk Low. These prints adorn the insoles, lining, and heel. Lastly, the iconic Nike logo on the heel is presented in Futura's recognizable font used in his artworks.
Unfortunately, the official release date for the Futura x Nike Jam hasn't been announced yet. It's expected to drop along with the clothing collection on 1 August 2024. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates.
