The Nike Dunk Low 'Silver Surfer' makes its comeback
The Nike Dunk Low 'Silver Surfer' will begin returning on September 5, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Nike and select retailers. Originally released in 2004, this classic is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a re-release that stays true to the original.
The design pays homage to one of the characters from Marvel Comics, the Silver Surfer. This superhero, also known as Norrin Radd, is a silver-haired, cosmic traveler who surfs through space on his silver board. His sleek, reflective look and his adventures among the stars have made him a legend in the comic book world, and that is exactly what this sneaker builds on.
The rerelease stays true to the original design, with those same metallic silver and gray colors, reminiscent of the superhero. The combination of mesh and leather gives the design a sleek look, while the bright blue Swoosh and subtle red accents on the tongue and heel provide a nice contrast.
Although the graphic of the Silver Surfer on the insoles is missing this time, the atmosphere of the superhero remains strong thanks to the carefully chosen color scheme.
