Once again, adidas has joined forces with creative collective: Girls Are Awesome. Together, they are working on a sneaker collection with a very striking look. The shoes have, among other things, a double sole. We also see many different materials. The two are releasing three pairs together. A Girls Are Awesome x adidas Forum high and lowtop and a Triple Platform Lo.
Girl Are Awesome (GAA) are known for their vintage looks. GAA has gotten very creative with the sneakers, introducing chenille, stripe prints and double-layered branding on the adidas Forum. They even choose to detail the silhouette's signature lock-down ankle strap. GAA and adidas have several collaborations behind them already.
Girls Are Awesome x adidas Triple Platform Low | GY2618
The adidas Triple Platform Low got the GAA makeover and immediately has a vintage look. On the front of the sneaker, we see that mainly leather is used in a cream and purple colour. On the heel, the leather runs over into a soft fabric. As the name of the sneaker already says, the shoe has a double sole. The upper sole has a purple/white striped pattern. The lower sole has a quiet white colour. The outsole has a purple colour, which matches the upper. Finally, we see the ankle strap with the terry cloth, which has 'Girls Are Awesome' embroidered on it. This is also embroidered in triple on the side of the sneaker, in the colours of this colourway.
Girls Are Awesome x adidas Forum High | GY2632
The same colours and materials are used on the GAA x adidas Forum High. On the upper, we see that the cream colour dominates and features leather. Around the ankle, black and yellow leather is used, while on the heel, we see purple. On the heel, we see the soft fabric again, just like on the ankle strap. The black leather returns on the 'Three-stripes'. Also on adidas Forum, we see the triple Girls Are Awesome on the side and once embroidered on the ankle closure. This ankle strap can be replaced by the included other ankle straps!
Girls Are Awesome x adidas Forum Low | GY2680
The low top of the Girls Are Awesome x adidas is almost entirely the same as the high top version. Here we also see that the cream-coloured leather takes over, while on the heel we see the cream colour mostly back on the soft fabric. On the heel is black/purple striped pattern, which gives the sneaker a tough look. The lip and lining have a mustard yellow colour, on suede. This is also seen on the Forum High. The ankle closure is changeable in these sneakers as well. What is also visible on both pairs, is the rubber gum outsole, what makes the sneaker's look completely finished!
