Bad Bunny celebrates his 30th birthday

On March 10, 2024, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny, will be blowing out 30 candles on his birthday cake. It's a big deal for us at Sneakerjagers, and we don't want to miss celebrating it. Not only do we want to wish him a happy birthday, but we also want to give a shoutout to the impact he's made in the sneaker world.

Since 2021, this Puerto Rican artist has been teaming up with adidas. They've put together an awesome range of colourful styles and designs. While the adidas Campus is a big hit, the Response CL is also getting more attention these days.

In this article, we're going to check out some of Bad Bunny's most popular and eye-catching designs.

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny is a real all-rounder, rocking it as a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and even a boxer. Right now, he's best known for his reggaeton and Latin trap tunes. Coming from Puerto Rico, he's gathered fans from all over the globe, mainly because he sticks to singing in Spanish. While lots of artists switch to English to get bigger, Bad Bunny's stayed true to his roots, making him a global icon of culture and entertainment.

So it's no surprise that in 2021, he was named one of Billboard's top 10 global stars. He also snagged the title of number one Latin artist of the year for the third time. But wait, there's more! With over 18.5 billion streams on Spotify, Bad Bunny is the only Latin artist to be crowned the most streamed artist worldwide on Spotify.

In 2022, his album, Un Verano Sin Ti, dropped. This album smashed two records at once: the most streamed artist and the most streamed album, surpassing rapper Drake. Plus, the album stayed at the top of the Billboard 200 for a whopping 13 weeks. In 2023, 'Un Verano Sin Ti' was once again the most streamed album on Spotify.

In his song 'Andrea', Bad Bunny raps about Verstappen: 'La vida va como Verstappen en Formula 1'. It's a shoutout to the racing champ. To say thanks, Max Verstappen drove around with the cover of 'Un Verano Sin Ti' on his car during the first Grand Prix of Miami.

Bad Bunny dropped his latest album, 'Nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana,' on October 13, 2023. It's his most recent release so far. One track that's been getting loads of attention, especially on TikTok, is 'MONACO', where once again Max Verstappen gets a mention in the lyrics. Give the album a listen below:

In 2021, Bad Bunny and adidas joined forces for the first time. Both Bad Bunny and adidas share a passion for making a difference, especially in their community.

Speaking about the collaboration, Bad Bunny said: 'It feels great to create my own design with people who I share the same sentiment. It feels amazing knowing that my next steps will be in my own sneakers.'

One of the first and most famous collaborations is the Forum Low 'The First Café'. It popped up for the first time in the music video for 'Yo Visto Así'. You can also spot this text inside the strap of the sneaker.

This pair is built on a leather base, with a mix of suede and canvas for the other parts. It's decked out in various earthy tones and offers plenty of options for customisation. You've got a double tongue, a removable buckle, a bungee strap on the heel, and an extra heel piece to play around with.

'The First Café' flew off the shelves in a flash, marking a major success for this budding collaboration.

Bad Bunny x adidas Forum Low 'Easter Egg' | GW0265

The 'Easter Egg' was just as big a hit as 'The First Café'. Like before, this Forum version rocks a combo of suede, leather, and canvas overlays. This colourful edition mixes various shades of pink, from soft pastels to vibrant hues.

All the signature details that made the silhouette a hit are here too: the unique ankle strap, the 'El Ojo' on the tongue, and the special heel design. Plus, you'll spot the 'Yo Visto Así' text again on the strap, which means 'I dress like this/this is how I dress'.

Bad Bunny x adidas Response CL 'Yellow' & 'White' | GY0101 - GY0102

On March 10, 2022, Bad Bunny dropped one of the most hyped releases yet. On that day, the collaboration didn't just release one, but two different colorways of the adidas Response CL. One of these, the yellow version, is currently being resold for over €450.

The yellow colorway made its debut on Bad Bunny's feet during his El Último Tour Del Mundo tour. These kicks boast layered panels that give off a 'dripping' effect, inspired by ice.

adidas said at the time about this release: 'When Bad Bunny walks into a room, you notice him. The King of Latin Trap commands a presence with his eclectic fashion sense and fluid sense of expression. These Adidas Response CL Bad Bunny Shoes are an extension of that, completely redefining an early 2000s running shoe into something fresh for today.'

Bad Bunny x adidas Forum Low 'Blue Tint' | GY9693

'Blue Tint' captures the essence of Puerto Rico's everlasting summer and the creative spirit that has propelled Bad Bunny to his current status.

This sneaker sticks to the same style as earlier Forum releases, but this time it's rocking a cool blue with white touches. Inspired by Puerto Rico's blue skies, where Bad Bunny hails from, this design captures the island's beauty and the artist's creative flair.

Bad Bunny x adidas Campus 'Wild Moss' | ID7950

As mentioned earlier, the adidas Campus is getting pretty popular too. They've dropped a bunch of colours like 'Cloud White' and 'Brown'. But 'Wild Moss' was a real winner too.

Unlike the earlier styles, the Campus colours are inspired by nature, so they're a bit more laid-back. They've got the same double features as the Forum, like the tongue and heel, but these are decked out in lush suede with earthy tones.

Bad Bunny x adidas Response CL 'Ecru Tint' | ID0780

To celebrate his latest album drop, the collab launched a brand-new sneaker: the Bad Bunny x adidas Originals Response CL 'Ecru Tint'. This time, the artist took cues from the Wild West for the colour palette on these kicks.

The sneaker was released in late September 2023 exclusively at shops specialising in horse and western wear in Puerto Rico, Spain, Mexico, and the United States. This further emphasises the theme of both the new album and the Response CL.

In 2024, Bad Bunny and adidas keep the collab going strong with the drop of the Bad Bunny x adidas Response CL 'Wonder White'. Inspired by Bad Bunny's Most Wanted Tour, these kicks pay homage to the loyal fans who've been with him since day one. They're all about making history together, from a spot only those who've been following Benito from the start truly understand.
