Even though we are still in the middle of winter, adidas is already unveiling its Y-3 collection for the next summer season. The 'Uniform of the Streets' collection is exactly what the name gives away; a capsule full of sleek and modern designs that fit perfectly into today's streetscape.
Y-3, the sublabel of adidas designed by Yohji Yamamoto, debuted the collection when the label returned to the stage at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year and is reclaiming its iconic 'Uniform of the Streets' graphic from SS18. This time, the brand repaints the additional elements with a brushstroke motif to demonstrate just one part of the story: Y-3.
The collection pays tribute to Y-3's legacy as adidas' first partnership that combined fashion and high-end fashion. Yamamoto's signature style can be seen in everything: the use of color, or rather lack thereof, the clean designs and streamlined details.
While the graphic treatment is consistently applied throughout, certain garments are accented with loose threads, reflecting Yohji Yamamoto's artisanal approach to design.
The collection comes with several eye-catching pieces, including a coach jacket, cargo pants, blazer, and an elongated vest - all featuring the 'Uniform of the Streets' logo. The graphic is also woven into a knit cardigan and sweater.
The adiads Y-3 'Uniform of the Streets' collection is already available at adidas. Check out images of the items below, or go directly to adidas.
