During the week of January 21 to 26, Paris Fashion Week took place. Throughout this week, Paris was all about showrooms, activations, and runways showcasing the FW25 collections. Sneakerjagers was also present and visited showrooms of various sneaker and clothing brands.
Check out some highlights from Paris Fashion Week FW25 here.
On the road
On January 23, Sneakerjagers’ Lotte (that’s me) and Mats took the train to Paris. Although Fashion Week had already been underway for a few days, we traveled with great enthusiasm, equipped with cameras and gear, to the city where everything revolved around fashion.
Louis Vuitton had kicked off the week in grand style two days earlier with a collaboration between Pharrell Williams and NIGO, setting the bar high for other brands.
After a quick train ride, we arrived at Gare du Nord. From there, we headed to our hotel, just ten minutes away.
After quickly freshening up, dropping our gear and a quick bite on the way, we visited the first showroom: PUMA.
PUMA Mostro
It was arguably the biggest event of the week: the PUMA Mostro activation. On Rue Froissart, just outside the center of Paris, PUMA’s showroom was on display. The location was marked by a large black arch that mimicked the design of the Mostro.
The space was divided into two areas: a showroom featuring designs for upcoming seasons and the Mostro showroom. While we can’t share much about the first showroom, the Mostro activation is definitely worth discussing - because PUMA went all out.
The day before Mats and I arrived, the Netherlands’ own Hagel was present to help create custom Mostros. On the day we arrived, the location was open to the public. In collaboration with Hartcopy, PUMA had set up a complete archive showcasing past Mostro silhouettes - each one more striking than the last.
The setting exuded a modern and industrial character, perfectly matching the DNA of the Mostro. Live music played in the background, and the iconic Speedcat sneaker was also on display. Just before we left, a running competition took place right in front of the PUMA location. A promising start to our visit.
adidas Showroom & Superstar Lounge
The next stop was the adidas showroom, located in an elegant venue in the heart of Paris. Here, collections for the upcoming seasons were presented - though we can’t reveal much about them. What we can share, however, is the spotlight on the adidas Superstar, an iconic model set to take center stage in 2025.
At a second location, a few kilometers away, adidas had created a lounge to celebrate the Superstar. The silhouette, introduced in the 80s, is getting a second variant this year: the Superstar II. The updated design is chunkier and comfier than its predecessor, while still maintaining its signature fit.
The lounge offered more than just sneakers. Attendees could enjoy snacks, drinks, and live music. There was also a fitting room where visitors could try on and purchase items from the new collection. The highlight of the activation was a corner where you could customize your own Superstars.
I had my pair of black adidas Superstars customized with elegant roses and 'Paris' in cursive lettering. Mats had his sneakers personalized with initials on the heel.
Salomon Whisper Brunch
Another brand that went all out during Paris Fashion Week was Salomon. To celebrate the release of the Salomon XT-Whisper, the brand hosted an extensive brunch with both sweet and savory snacks, drinks, and Parisian-style madeleines branded with 'Salomon.' The venue exuded luxury and showcased not only the XT-Whisper but also some upcoming releases.
On the first floor, there was also a showroom showcasing the FW25 collection and next year’s releases. Again, we can’t reveal too much, but personally, I’m most excited about Salomon’s showroom out of all the ones we visited. At the end of the brunch, attendees received a Salomon XT-Whisper in either black, white, light purple, or beige.
The sneaker came in a custom wooden shoebox that resembled a thick book. ‘Salomon’ was pressed into the wood on the front in golden letters. What’s interesting about the 'Whisper' is that no one really knows where the name comes from, which, in my opinion, only adds to its mystery. I’m a fan.
Footpatrol Blockparty
Amid all the showrooms and activations, a good party was definitely in order. On the first night, we were in Paris, Footpatrol threw a big party at their own store. Where sneakers were usually displayed, people were now dancing on platforms, and drinks were being served behind the cash register.
Under the motto "just networking," everyone enjoyed a drink and chatted with one another. Throughout the day, the store celebrated the release of the Footpatrol x Hiking Patrol x Reebok Instapump Fury in a bright pink colorway, which could be spotted on the feet of the dancing staff.
At the front of the store, the DJ played hit after hit—everything from Timbaland's 'The Way I Are' to Usher’s 'Confessions' and hits by Kid Cudi. Besides having great releases, Footpatrol also knows how to throw an amazing party.
PSG x Jordan Brand bij solebox
Another sneaker retailer making a big impact this season was solebox. To celebrate the Paris Saint-Germain x Jordan Brand 'Wings' collaboration, the recently opened solebox store was completely transformed to reflect the theme of the collection.
This collaboration between the French football team and Jordan Brand featured two Air Jordan 1 releases, along with matching apparel that perfectly reflected the luxury and style of the football club.
The store, collection, and sneakers all exuded pure luxury, which was also reflected in the price tag of the items. Normally, you can enjoy a coffee at the adjacent café, but for this event, the space was entirely dedicated to the release of the Air Jordan 1. The sneaker was presented in two variations, one being even more exclusive than the other.
The most exclusive version, the ‘We Love The Game Edition’ colorway, is limited to just 23 pairs. This variant is crafted from premium Italian leather, finished in France. Each pair comes in a handmade wooden shoebox, inspired by the Parc des Princes stadium. This unique model carries a retail price of a staggering €7500, and rumors suggest that DJ Khaled has already secured a pair.
The second pair is limited to 250 pairs and is somewhat more affordable - though at €2200, it’s still quite the investment.
Gorpcore still a major player
In between the big events, we hopped from showroom to showroom. One recurring trend we spotted across the showrooms was gorpcore, which we can expect to see from various brands in the upcoming year.
Showrooms from brands like Oakley, Merrell, and Roa showcased bold, chunky, and waterproof designs that perfectly align with the gorpcore trend. From oversized puffers to shoes with zippers that come together as one piece, and waterproof sneakers - these silhouettes, originally designed for outdoor use, seem to be making their way into the lifestyle fashion scene for the upcoming season.
Saucony showroom
One showroom that certainly can’t be missed in the highlights of Paris Fashion Week FW25 is Saucony's. The location was easy to spot, marked by a large sign in front of the door with 'Saucony' spray-painted in colorful graffiti. Once inside, you were greeted by a wall filled with upcoming Saucony releases as far as the eye could see.
After walking through, you entered a futuristic space where the release of a returning Saucony silhouette was showcased. Among all the upcoming releases we can't reveal too much about, the next Jae Tips x Saucony collaboration was also on display.
Honorable mentions
By January 25, our Paris Fashion Week experience had already come to an end, and we headed back to our little country in the late afternoon. In the three days we were there, we saw, did, and experienced so much—too much to mention in just one article. However, there were also many runways and showrooms that we weren’t able to visit, which are definitely worth mentioning as well.
Think of the impressive show by KidSuper, the unique showroom by Comme des Garçons, the adidas Y-3 runway, and the latest collection from Willy Chavarria. One personal favorite from this Paris Fashion Week was the promising collaboration between sacai and Carhartt WIP.
We can also look forward to a new collaboration between UMBRO and Slam Jam, which I’m personally a big fan of. Additionally, the first collaboration between the American label 424 and Nike is on the horizon that’s also looking very promising.
See you next season!
By the evening, we were back in the Netherlands. Speaking for myself, I’m truly amazed by what the FW25 season has in store for us. It’s also secretly pretty cool to get an early glimpse of what's coming. The atmosphere in the city during this week is, of course, unmatched.
