In August 2023, Timberland launched its fourth Future73 collection. The first in collaboration with Samuel Ross, founder of A-COLD-WALL*, was released in May 2023. Now we've come to a second collection from this duo. It includes the Original Timberland Boot in 'Jet Black' regenerative leather, a GORE-TEX Heritage 3-Eye Lug silhouette and lastly new apparel pieces.
Future73
Future73 comprises a design collective consisting of six creatives and designers. Collaborating closely with Timberland's team, these six designers individually crafted unique creations. They were granted complete creative freedom to express themselves in clothing, footwear, and boots.
Samuel Ross
Samuel Ross is one of the designers in the collective. The second collaboration between Timberland and Ross was dropped in August 2023. But who is this designer anyway?
Samuel Ross holds his best-known reputation as the founder of the fashion and lifestyle brand A-COLD-WALL*. What distinguishes him is his seamless integration of street culture elements with high-fashion aesthetics. Samuel Ross has received multiple awards and recognitions for his contributions to the fashion industry. Moreover, the fashion world widely regards him as an influential figure in contemporary fashion.
Second drop
For its second drop, the designer has given a new look to the iconic Timberland boot. The 6-inch Zip Boot comes in a 'Jet Black' colorway, made from regenerative leather and featuring a side zip fastening and stacked studs for extra grip.
Moreover, Ross has also applied his creativity to the Timberland Heritage 3-Eye Lug silhouette. The shoe comes in a 'Dark Sapphire' colour scheme, with a reinforced ripstop upper and a GORE-TEX lining.
Finally, the collection also comes with several clothing items. Including sweatshirts and trousers, along with a jointly designed utility vest.
Ross about the collection: “This collection is the return of craft, the return of family ateliers and the notion of apprenticeship, which needs to be protected. This is why we chose to make a lot of this capsule in Italy and to bring these hand techniques which you can't just replicate,”
