In the summer of 2023, the first images of the long-awaited collaboration between Union LA and Jordan Brand surfaced, namely the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Woven'. But now it turns out that's not all. It has been officially confirmed that this collaboration has expanded to three parties, with Bephie's Beauty Supply playing a major role. This collaboration takes you back to the Summer of 96 and includes the aforementioned AJ1, plus a WMNS Air Jordan 1 Elevated High.

Nike and Los Angeles-based fashion label Union LA are no strangers to each other, having collaborated in the past on silhouettes like the Air Jordan 2, Dunk Low and Air Jordan 4. Bephie's Beauty Supply is a streetwear label founded by Beth Birkett, wife of Union LA owner Chris Gibbs.
The Summer of '96 collection is a tribute to the summer when Beth and Gibbs met. So the source of inspiration is their love. But looking back, they also realise that this summer was not only the basis for their relationship, but also the precursor of the lifestyle movement we now call "streetwear".
The Union LA x Bephies Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 'Summer of 96' collection is therefore a mix of old-school elements with a modern look and production techniques.
Furthermore, Union LA seems to take its inspiration from the Air Footscape Woven, a silhouette from the 2000s. The Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Woven' comes in a 'Sail' colorway. Yellow stitching is found across the entire silhouette. On the heel is the UN/LA label in yellow. Furthermore, the Jordan 1 Elevated High will be released in a colourful composition that includes Sail, Wolf Grey, Vanilla, Kinetic Green and University Gold.
An eye-catching feature of both colorways is the openwork detail that runs across the entire model. The upper also appears to be held together by sturdy stitching. The Swoosh is located in the centre. The yellowed midsole rounds off the shoes and gives the Air Jordan "Summer of '96" a retro touch.
