On November 5, 2023, the New York City Marathon 2023 took place. The 52nd edition of the marathon took place in the heart of New York City and is considered one of the biggest marathon events in the world. Tamirat Tola set a world record in the adidas Adios Adizero Pro Evo 1 and Hellen Obiri won in the women's with the ON-Running Cloudboom Echo 3 on her feet.

The New York Marathon is one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. Along with the cities of Chicago, Tokyo, Boston, Berlin, and London, this edition is one of the most famous in the world. During the event, a 42.195-kilometer route through New York is run.

Winners New York Marathon 2023
Runner Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia was the star of the day. Tola ran a time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 58 seconds, setting a new record. The runner, represented by adidas, ran the distance in the adidas Adios Adizero Pro Evo 1, also the model in which Tigist Assefa set her record.
The winner of the marathon was Hellen Obiri of Kenya. Obiri ran a time of 2:27.23, winning her second marathon of the year, following her victory in Boston. Obiri was featured in the Cloudboom Echo 3, a lightweight running shoe from brand ON-Running.
