The New Balance 509 returns in 2025 with two colorways

The New Balance 509 is making a comeback in 2025 with two striking colorways. The first teaser dropped in February, courtesy of South Korean designer Do Hee Kim, who was also involved in the 509’s 2024 launch. In spring 2025, we can expect the release of the ‘Red’ and ‘Black/Castle Grey’ versions.

The most eye-catching of the two is the ‘Red’ colorway. This sneaker features a bold mix of red nubuck and mesh, creating a textured and breathable design. Gold accents on the ‘N’ logo and laces add a premium touch, while the gold midsole perfectly complements the upper. The outsole features subtle blue details that enhance the shoe’s overall look.

The second colorway, ‘Black/Castle Grey,’ has a more understated aesthetic. It combines black suede overlays with a grey mesh base for a clean and layered design. The semi-distressed finish on the midsole and outsole adds a unique, worn-in feel.
