South Korean streetwear label thisneverthat, founded by Cho Nadan, Park Inwook and Choi Jonkyu, is once again teaming up with New Balance. The next collaboration will use the New Balance 1000 silhouette, a sneaker that first returned to the shelves this year.
New Balance seems to focus all its attention on the 1000 silhouette this year. The sneaker appeared in early 2024 in a campaign featuring rapper Dave and not much later received several colorways. Recently, an Aimé Leon Dore collab appeared, in which this same Y2K model appeared in three different colorways.
Now it is thisneverthat's turn to give the model a unique makeover. The two labels have collaborated in the past, think of the thisneverthat x New Balance 327, released in 2020. The next collab uses a somewhat colorful sneaker.
The thisneverthat x New Balance 1000 features a cream-colored upper constructed of sturdy mesh. Silver overlays give the sneaker its Y2K aesthetic. Red details on the toecap, heel, and tongue offer a nice contrast to the rest of the sneaker. Co-branding can be found on the tongue.
