Fabrice Le Goff, better known as Bisso, is once again teaming up with Saucony. For this collaboration, the Shadow 5000 model is used, a dynamic silhouette with timeless elements. The sneaker comes in a 'Bondamanjak' colorway inspired by the rich Caribbean culture.
The sneaker's name refers to the Bondamanjak chili pepper, a symbol of strength, much like the women of the Caribbean and French Guiana. The sneaker pays tribute to Bisso's cultural background, incorporating various elements and details.
A key element is the traditional madras fabric, an important cultural symbol of celebration and heritage. This fabric is placed on the middle panel of the sneaker, contrasting beautifully with the bright green and orange elements on the toe and heel, crafted from premium leather and suede.
The color palette is also inspired by the chili pepper, showcasing the different stages of ripening of the Bondamanjak chili, ranging from green to yellow and from orange to deep red. Special chili pepper graphics and a blue lining, paying tribute to the Caribbean Sea, give the sneaker its unique touch.
The sneaker comes in a special custom box with a wood-like finish and chili pepper details. The madras print also appears inside the box. The campaign was shot during the Fête des Cuisinières, a celebration that honors the culinary traditions of Guadeloupe and the remarkable women who continue these traditions.
