BISSO and KangaROOS are teaming up again in 2022 and come up with the Coil R1 'Rainbow Trout II'. The sneaker has a chic look and uses the materials suede and fish leather. The BISSO x KangaROOS Coil R1 'Rainbow Trout II' pays tribute to 'Street Fishing,' a playful sport concept in which one searches for the most interesting fish in canals in the big city. The sneaker drops on December 8, 2022.
Fabrice Le Goff, better known as BISSO, grew up in France and has a great passion for hip-hop and sneakers. BISSO and KangaROOS have collaborated in the past and came out with the BISSO x Max Loewe X KangaROOS 'Rainbow Trout' in 2021. The Coil R1 'Rainbow Trout II' is a nice follow-up to this release and uses unique materials.
For example, the 'Rainbow Trout II' uses fish leather on the nose, heel, and center panel. The fish leather comes from a French tannery and is colored using 100% sustainable tanning procedures. The choice of fish leather is not entirely unexpected, as BISSO is a great lover of the sport of fishing. After going to the Pyrenees to fish rainbow trout, BISSO stayed in Toulouse to take up fishing in an urban environment.
'Street Fishing'
According to him, an urban environment is a place for rich and varied fauna. On the banks of the Canal du Midi, BISSO can be found with his bike, carrying bag, fishing pole, and some lures and he quickly goes in search of fish such as trout, perch, or pike. The gray color of the sneaker takes inspiration from the 'concrete environment', being the city.
The sneaker was designed with sustainability in mind. For example, no fish were killed for the fish leather and the materials come from waste from the food industry. The sneaker combines different shades of gray. The center panel features the KangaROOS logo. Red details appear on the collar and on the center panel. The heel has been given a green element.
"Thanks again to Kangaroos who gave me the opportunity to design my second Kangaroos sneaker without any constraints", BISSO says about working with KangaROOS. "This only confirms the state of mind of this brand, which is close to all those who are passionate about high quality products."
