Ghica Popa joins KangaROOS for first time
KangaROOS is joining forces with artist Ghica Popa for the first time. The artist is known for his progressive designs. According to Sneaker Freaker, Popa belongs to the top 10 sneaker designers. For the first collaboration with KangaROOS, the artist came up with a striking design. The sneaker will be released on September 14, 2023, in Hamburg, Germany.
Ghica Popa comes out with his first sneaker collab. In 2013, the artist came up with his first sneaker project 'Space Vehicles' which was immediately noticed by platforms Hypebeast, Complex, Highsnobiety, and others. His work reached a global dimension and led to collaborations with brands such as Gucci, Ray-Ban, Casio, Jeff Staple, and sneaker stores worldwide.
Now the artist teams up with KangaROOS in the 'Out of this World' collab. The sneaker does the name justice. The upper comes with Popa's well-known graphics in shades of gray and beige. The drawn universe on the upper is carefully decorated with detailed space vehicles and quirky characters.
The KangaROOS Ultimate silhouette features a sleek design. The upper uses premium materials, including mesh, nubuck, and Nappa leather. In addition, the sole, sockliner, and collar use recycled materials. The sneaker is 100% handmade in the Hummel&Hummel Schuhmanufaktur factory in Germany.
The Ghica Popa x KangaROOS Ultimate 'Out of this World' collab drops on September 14, 2023, during a release event in Hamburg, Germany. The global release is scheduled for September 15, 2023.
