Nike is on a roll. The brand brings back release after release, and the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Shattered Backboard' is next. The sneaker made its debut in 2015 and has a rather special backstory. Read more about the release of this colorway here.
The year 2025 is an important one for Nike. That's because the Air Jordan 1, the sneaker that started it all for the Jordan Brand, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Especially for this anniversary, Nike is bringing back a well-known colorway: the 'Shattered Backboard'.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Shattered Backboard' was released in 2015. The sneaker pays tribute to a practice game in Trieste, Italy. In 1985, during Michael Jordan's 'Rookie of the Year' NBA season, Jordan dunked the ball through the net so hard that the backboard shattered.
During this game, Jordan and his teammates wore the color orange, which is also used in the colorway. The sneaker features a white upper made of premium leather, with black and orange overlays across the design. The 2025 release will most likely remain identical to its predecessor. Whether the sneaker will receive a 'Reimagined' makeover is not yet known.
There is no official release date yet for the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Shattered Backboard'. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates. Check out photos from the 2015 release below.
