Bricks & Wood x New Balance 1906U 'Black'

The Bricks & Wood x New Balance 1906U 'Black' is finally here. The sneaker appeared earlier this year on the Instagram account of Dani Barazza, Bricks & Wood designer and COO. Now we see the pair appearing at various retailers. The sneaker drops on October 18, 2024.

Bricks & Wood, a Los Angeles-based store, is once again joining forces with New Balance. Previously, the duo worked on the 57/40 and 9060; now it's the 1906U's turn. The sneaker features a striking colorway inspired by the Chrysiridia rhipheus, also known as the Madagascan moth.

The sneaker has an upper of black premium ripstop mesh, with synthetic overlays over it that create an ombre effect in shades of green, blue, yellow, and red. Pink accents in the sole accentuate the ABZORB SBS pods, which provide extra cushioning.

The sole is further optimized with flexible ACTEVA LITE and N-ERGY cushioning technology, providing a comfortable feel. Corded laces and bungee closures give the shoe a rugged look inspired by trails and functional outdoor details.

Earlier this year, Bricks & Wood announced that the label would be coming out with no less than three New Balance collabs by the end of 2024. The first has just been unveiled: the New Balance 1906U. The sneaker, called 'The Wind Beneath My Wings,' features a black colorway with colorful details.

Bricks & Wood is once again joining forces with New Balance. In 2021, the two labels first worked together and released a New Balance 57/40. In 2023, they released the 9060 'Nothing Changed But The Address,' which took inspiration from the home of the grandmother of Kacey Lynch, founder of Bricks & Woods.

Following the success of the 9060 release, Bricks & Wood announced that they would continue their collaboration with the Boston-based sneaker label through 2024. In doing so, the duo did not reveal which models would be involved. Dani Barazza, Bricks & Wood's COO and designer, recently unveiled the 1906U on her socials.
