To celebrate the release of the PUMA Slipstream Bball, Sneakerjagers were invited to an event in Paris. During the PUMA Slipstream Bball event, the history of the classic silhouette was explained and several activities were planned. Read more about how the Paris event went here.
Of to Paris
On Thursday morning, Mats, Nikki and Tommy Triggah were in Amsterdam at seven in the morning. Along with artists like Bully, Jay-Way and Sterre Marith, the group was picked up by bus to leave for Paris. After a long but pleasant bus journey, the Sneakerjagers team was received at the 1K Hotel in Paris.
Arriving at the hotel, a package awaited them. The PUMA Slipstream Bball in the 'Green' colorway was on the bed, along with the programme and information about the event. After everyone had freshened up, the invitees headed to the Tunisian street food restaurant Lyoom.
Next, everyone was expected at B18, the venue of the PUMA Slipstream Bball event. The industrial design of the venue was dressed in PUMA's style and featured a basketball court. The event featured snacks and drinks and several DJs played throughout the day. There was also live coverage on Sneakerjagers' Instagram account.
LaMelo Ball
The building had also put up a PUMA Slipstream museum where you could learn more about the history of the trainer. All the guests trickled in and at 20:00 the event started. After getting some drinks from the bar, none other than LaMelo Ball, also known as Melo (@melo), arrived.
Melo is an American NBA player currently playing for the Charlotte Hornets. He already has a long-term partnership with PUMA and thus came dressed in a nice PUMA outfit. During the event, Melo was the judge together with Brisco during the PUMA basketball freestyle battle. The winner of the battle won a meet-and-greet with the NBA player.
After Melo's arrival, everyone could get drinks and meet other sneaker lovers. The event went on until after midnight and afterwards, people could still go into town. The next morning, everyone was expected at breakfast and the bus left for the Netherlands. So a short trip to Paris, but it was definitely worth it.
