Always wanted a customised pair of the Nike Blazer? You can do it on the Nike website! With the Nike By You function you can give your own twist to the sneaker and determine your own style.
Nike Blazer Mid '77
The Nike Blazer is one of our favourite models and is almost unmissable in the streetwear scene. The model was named after the NBA team 'The Portland Trail Blazers' and made its debut in 1973. To bring attention to the silhouette, Nike chose to have the shoe worn by NBA basketball player George Gervin, also known as 'The Ice Man', during one of his games in the 1970s.
The shoe has a leather upper and wears a sole made of rubber. The well-known Swoosh can be found on the middle panel. The model is available in a low and high version and has received a lot of colourways.
The sneaker was especially designed for basketball, but over the years it became popular in various subcultures. The shoe was also worn by skateboarders and the model got a lot of variations in collaborations with different designer brands.
How do you personalise the Nike Blazer?
On the website you can choose to customise the Blazer low or Blazer high. Once you have chosen your model and selected your size, the design process can begin. The sneaker is divided into several parts. This way, you can personalise each part with your full attention.
During the design process you have the opportunity to give the parts different colours. You can also choose the materials you want on your pair. From the laces to the outsoles, the Nike By You feature allows you to express all your creativity on the shoe.
Finally, it is also possible to add a text on the inside of the tongue. The text can only consist of three characters, so here it is possible to put your initials for example. When your design is finished, you click 'ready' and the sneaker is ready to be ordered.
