The new Air Max 97 silhouette combines two OG colorways in the upcoming pair. The model celebrates its 25th anniversary and does so with the 'Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow'. The sneaker will be released on May 1, 2022.
The Air Max 97 will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2022 and Nike is celebrating with the 'Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow'. The Air Max model was first released in 1997 and was the first Nike sneaker with a full-length air unit. The model was first introduced in a 'Metallic Silver' colorway.
The new colorway takes its inspiration from the two OG colorways 'Atlantic Blue' and 'Neon'. For example, the upper of the 'Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow' brings back the colors of the 'Atlantic Blue' and the air unit has been given a neon color.
The 'Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow' is also not an unfamiliar colorway on the Air Max 97. For example, the colorway appeared on the Air Max model shortly after its release in 1997. Also, in 2017, Nike released the 'Atlantic Blue' colorway on which the same neon colors recurred.
The upper is mesh and tinted silver. The 'Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow' has a black mudguard. A neon yellow Swoosh is placed on the center panel. This is also reflected on the label on the tongue. On the heel, Air Max is set in neon yellow. The sneaker also has a reflective overlay.
The Nike Air Max 97 'Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow' will be released on May 1, 2022.
