New Balance expands its collection of designs with the introduction of the New Balance 2000 ABZORB – a sneaker that bridges the gap between early 2000s design and modern technologies. Previously, the first images of a light blue colorway had already surfaced.
The next release features a fresh light blue and grey color scheme.
New Balance 2000 ABZORB
The 2000 model stands out with its streamlined upper made of breathable mesh, combined with synthetic overlays. The iconic 'N' logo is placed on the side. Silver accents on the eyelets and overlays complement the contemporary design.
The shoe is equipped with full-length ABZORB cushioning, which absorbs shocks along the entire length of the sole. This enhances walking comfort. The sturdy sole with visible pods references the design of early 2000s running shoes.
More colorways
In February 2025, the first images of the New Balance 2000 ABZORB appeared, shared by São Paulo-based stylist Gustavo Soares. This earlier version featured a baby blue color that perfectly matched the dynamic design of the silhouette.
The sneaker was well received, and it seems that New Balance has big plans for the silhouette.

ABZORB technology is a cushioning technology developed by New Balance. The material absorbs shock and distributes the impact across the sole, providing greater comfort and stability during wear. This technology is often used in the brand's models.
The sneaker generally falls true to size. Do you have wide feet or are you between sizes? Then it may be wise to go a half size up for extra comfort.
