New Balance is bringing back a well-known model: the 740. The sneaker was originally released in the early 2010s and is now being brought back, with some modifications. The first colorways of the New Balance 740 have already been announced. Check them out here.
The New Balance 740 has a sporty design that is very reminiscent of the popular 530 silhouette. The upper uses high-quality mesh and the synthetic overlays provide strength. The New Balance 740 remains close to its predecessor but has received some upgrades.
The silhouette features a streamlined midsole and an upper suspiciously reminiscent of that of the 1906R. Unlike recent “Made In USA” releases, a collection by New Balance, the model has a relatively low price point. As such, the sneaker competes with models such as the New Balance 530 and ASICS GEL-1130 (and seems to be winning in this regard).
The silhouette is additionally used in a collaboration with rapper Aminé, who first collaborated with New Balance in 2023, releasing the 610 'Mooze'. On November 1, 2024, the Amine x New Balance 740v2 'BTEE' drops, a colorful release with outdoor details.
