New Balance brings back the 740 as part of its expanding Tech Runner collection

New Balance likes to be at the forefront when it comes to releasing designs from the past, and that's totally fitting at the moment - just think of the retro and Y2K trends that are all the rage right now. On Wednesday 16 October 2024, a new silhouette will be added to the brand's Tech Runner collection: the New Balance 740. This model was originally launched in the early 2010s and is now making a comeback with some notable improvements.

Compared to its predecessor, the 740 has a slimmer look. However, the design is also reminiscent of the popular New Balance 530, which almost everyone has in their sneaker collection these days.

The 740 has a mesh base, metallic accents and of course the all-encompassing Y2K vibe that we all love so much. What appeals to us even more about this design is the comfort these shoes offer. Thanks to the ABZORB technology, you feel like you're walking on clouds.

A boy and a girl wear the New Balance 740 on their feet. The girl is wearing a denim two-piece, the boy a brown jumper with brown trousers. They are standing in front of LED signs with Chinese characters.

The upcoming colorway is a combination of a white mesh base with marsh green accents and silver overlays. With the release of the New Balance 740 on 16 October 2024, we think there's no better opportunity to give your shoe collection a retro boost, dear community. As always, you can find all the information about the release on this page!

In addition to this new release, a collaboration between Aminé and New Balance is also planned for 2024. Find out more here: Amine x New Balance 740v2 ‘BTEE’
