In honor of the 40th anniversary of the official 'Ghostbusters' movie, PUMA is releasing a Suede XL pack that comes with two colorways. The pack comes with designs inspired by aspects from the film. The Ghostbusters x PUMA Suede XL pack drops on October 1, 2024.
Perhaps one of the most iconic movies of all time, “Ghostbusters. Released in 1984, the film starred Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Winston Zeddemore, and Dan Aykroyd. With multiple Oscar and BAFTA nominations and awards, the film received a sequel in 1989, followed by multiple film adaptations and even a series.
In 2024, the film celebrates its 40th anniversary and celebrates with a PUMA collab. The popular Suede XL silhouette will appear in two colorways: 'Slimer' and 'Stay Puffed'. In particular, the first colorway, 'Slimer,' has a striking look that immediately brings to mind the eponymous slime-like monster from the movie.
The sneaker features a poison green upper made of premium suede. The tongue features the PUMA label, as well as the Ghostbusters logo. The tongue is made of chunky suede, giving the sneaker a playful twist. A translucent gum sole completes the pair.
The 'Stay Puffed' colorway has a slightly more subdued look. The sneaker takes inspiration from another prominent figure from the film: the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man who takes over the city. The sneaker has a white upper made of soft suede. Red and blue details on the tongue and center panel hint at the Marshmallow Man.
