Less than two weeks after the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 SP ‘Chlorophyll’ release, it seems we can now expect another release from the duo. On 2 October 2024, the Instagram account Bubble Koppe (@bubblekoppe) revealed that they will release an Air Max 90 that shares the ‘Wave’ theme.
It is not yet known what the collab will look like. Neither Nike nor Patta has confirmed the release either, but if rumors are to be believed, an Air Max 90 will drop in 2025 using the ‘Wave’ theme, also used in the 2021 Air Max 1 collab.
Which colorway the trainer will use is not yet known. It is also still unclear if the Air Max 90 will feature the same wavy mudguard, or if the wavy theme will be applied to the sneaker differently.
This is not the first time Patta and Nike have collaborated on the Air Max 90. In 2006, the Air Max 90 ‘Homegrown’ was released to mark the launch of State Magazine. The trainer had a green and orange colourway and was hugely popular due to its low print run.
It is also possible that the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 ‘Wave’ will appear in a ‘Homegrown’ colorway, paying homage to the previous release (like the ‘Chlorophyll’ rerelease). However, this remains to be seen in the coming weeks.
