Arc'teryx is founded on the idea that there is always a better way.

Half design centre, half engineering lab, their base is built so the brand can make and break their products until they have a smooth and efficient result.
From sampling materials, to designing new concepts, to perfecting new ways of manufacturing, every step of production is extensively honed to ensure the finished product is the absolute best quality it can be.

Arc'teryx Technology
Arc'teryx are able to craft the world's best outerwear due to their relationship with W. L. Gore.
By placing a Gore-tex layer between a durable, water-repellent fabric and a backer, their 3-layer material was a game changer for their products. The Gore-tex, which is a thin layer of ePTFE, or TEFLON™, acts as a shield against water, but still allows moisture to escape.
As well as being able to craft a light and durable outdoor product like the Alpha SV Jacket, Arc'teryx can simulate the conditions of any mountain peak in the world using their Gore Environmental Testing Chamber.
Prototypes are then taken into the local mountains for further testing in real world conditions.
The History of Arc'teryx
Arc'teryx designed their first apparel product in 1998, also beginning their relationship with W. L. Gore.
The Alpha SV jacket that was produced transformed the market, reducing the weight of the outdoor jacket by 300 grams while still maintaining windproof, waterproof and durable qualities.
Since then, the brand have continued to improve, introducing features such as Gore-tex material and watertight zippers that keep their products at the forefront of the industry.
