Rhuigi Villaseñor and PUMA are expanding their collaboration. Recently, the designer came out with the Rhuigi x PUMA Suede "B-boy. Now the Clyde Mid model gets a makeover and the sneaker appears in a retro colorway. The RHUIGI x PUMA Clyde Mid 'B-Boy' will drop on May 27, 2023, at PUMA and various retailers.
Rhuigi Villaseñor is a streetwear designer and founder of the brand RHUDE. Until recently, he was the creative director at Bally, a Swiss designer brand. With his designs, Rhuigi has made a big impact on the streetwear scene. The designer has already had the opportunity to design several sneakers in collaboration with PUMA and this time comes with the PUMA Clyde Mid.
The sneaker has a retro look and takes its inspiration from b-boy culture. The upper is made of leather and comes in a color white. The collar is made of cracked leather and comes in an off-white color. The center panel features the well-known PUMA logo in blue, with 'Clyde' printed in the leather below.
The tongue features the RHUIGI logo. The yellowed midsole gives the sneaker a vintage look. The gold number "1991" on the heels hints at the year when b-boy culture emerged in New York.

The sneaker is part of an ode-to-the-past collection, blending basketball heritage with lifestyle appeal and a high boot model. The mid-top silhouette incorporates "aged" components reminiscent of the PUMA Clyde's debut era with multiple textures in the materials over the boot and the upper. The profile strips feature a vibrant mix of blue and orange; a referencing the New York Knicks. Co-branding on the tongue solidifies the partnership between Rhuigi and PUMA and finally an off-white sole completes the look.
