The Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 'Hot Lava' release is finally here
Andre Agassi, one of the most iconic tennis players of all time, is making a comeback in the summer of 2024 with the 'Hot Lava' Air Tech Challenge 2 from the 1990s. The model was last available in 2019 and now returns with a nostalgic colour palette of Phantom, Hot Lava, Black, Silver, and Pale Ivory.
When comparing the 2019 sneaker to the 2024 version, we can see that the shape has been adjusted, especially around the toe. Additionally, the design appears to feature softer leather than the 2019 pair.
A closer look at the 2024 Air Tech Challenge II reveals a white leather base with perforations on the sides for improved ventilation. The signature Hot Lava colour is prominently displayed on the side around the sole, the Swoosh, the tongue branding, and the inner lining of the tongue, much more than on the 2019 pair. The sneaker also includes black and grey accents, while white shines on the Nike Air branding on the heel.
Lastly, the sneaker features a yellowed midsole, giving the design a vintage look.
