Nike introduced the revolutionary Air Force 1, the first basketball shoe with a full-length air sole, in 1982. This recognizable sneaker quickly became the preferred style of men, women, and children of all ages. The Nike Air Force High was the first product to steal the spotlight and gain instant acclaim among athletes.
Sneakers, such as the Air Force 1, transitioned from the court to the streets in the 2000s and were adopted as official symbols of urban street style by the hip-hop community. As a result of these transitions, models for elementary school children, such as the 'Grey Red' colourway, began to appear in a variety of new colourways.
The upper of the AF1 BG ‘Grey Red’ is mostly grey, but the heel padding, swoosh, tag, and outsole are all bright reddish in contrast. The white midsole of the sneaker completes the look by complementing the upper tones. This colourway is also available on the Air Force 1 BP and Air Force 1 BT.
