The Nike Air Foamposite One 'Doernbecher' is a special edition trainer designed as part of Nike's Doernbecher Freestyle programme in partnership with Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. This programme offers children suffering from serious diseases or conditions the chance to design their own unique trainer.

The 'Doernbecher' Air Foamposite One was designed by 11-year-old Coley Miller, who was born with kidney failure. Coley wanted her design to pay homage to her own Native American culture. She has done this by using a specially made pattern of braided baskets and quail feathers. The upper is made of foamposite material, creating a unique and futuristic look. She has also added a personal element by using a galactic background as a tribute to her mother. The words "ho mas gi" were chosen as a reminder of the phrase "Just Do It" in the Klamath language and are placed on the trainer's insole and outsole as a symbolic message to persevere and get things done.

The Nike Air Foamposite One 'Doernbecher' is not only a cool trainer, but also a symbol of hope and inspiration.

The collection features 5 other inspirational sneakers, including the Nike Air Presto by Kylee Young, Nike Huarache by Dario Villaseñor Valdivia, Nike Air Max 90 by Emerson Harrell, Air Jordan 1 Low by Riddhi Mahajan and the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 by Jaren Heacock.
