Out now: the Nike Air 180 'Concord'
The first rumours about the comeback of the Nike Air 180 'Concord' have been going around for a while, but we finally see the official release. The 'Concord' colorway first appeared at the feet of basketball player Michael Jordan in 1992 and has been a very popular design among sneaker lovers ever since.
'Dream Team'
Following the comeback of the Nike Air 180 'Ultramarine' earlier this year, we now see the next colorway: the 'Concord'. The sneaker, designed by Bruce Kilgore and Tinker Hatfield, made its debut in 1991, but caught a lot of attention a year later when Michael Jordan wore the trainer during the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
In 1992, Michael Jordan was part of the iconic 'Dream Team' consisting of players like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Scottie Pippen, a team still regarded as one of the best basketball teams of all time.
Jordan had his own deal with Nike at the time and had already released several Air Jordan silhouettes. But during the Olympics, he was also spotted wearing the Air 180 'Concord' on his feet. The sneaker has to this a white upper with purple overlays. The Swoosh on the center panel is colored gold.
Like the first release of the 'Concord,' this variant also appears during the Olympics, currently underway in Paris. The Nike Air 180 'Concord' will drop on August 7, 2024. Check out the official images below and don't miss the release.
