Nigel Sylvester shows the Nike Air Ship 'Bike Air'
Nigel Sylvester is once again teaming up with Nike. The US BMX athlete showed the first images of a new Nike Air Ship 'Bike Air' on his Instagram account. Multiple detailed images of the sneaker have now also been released. The two names already released an Air Jordan 1 and an SB Dunk High in the past. When the Nigel Sylvester x Nike Air Ship 'Bike Air' will be released is still unknown.
Nike and Nigel Sylvester are no strangers to each other. In 2014, the American BMX athlete came out with the Nike SB Dunk High 'S.O.M.P.' and in 2018, Nigel designed two colorways of the Air Jordan 1 High. At the time, Nigel Sylvester was sponsored by the Jordan Brand, so the collaboration was not entirely unexpected.
Now the BMX'er comes with a colorway of the Nike Air Ship. The Air Ship model is the predecessor of the well-known Air Jordan 1 silhouette and seems to be making its comeback anno 2023. The model was also featured in an A Ma Maniere colorway in early 2023, and Nike itself has also released several colorways.
The Nigel Sylvester x Nike Air Ship 'Bike Air' features a white and blue colorway. A striking detail can be seen the heel of the sneaker. Where it normally says Nike Air, we now see the name 'Bike Air', hinting at the collaboration with Sylvester.
The upper appears to be leather and the heel tab is chunky suede, with a dark blue collar. When the sneaker will drop is still unknown. However, we can most likely expect the Nigel Sylvester x Nike Air Ship 'Bike Air' in 2023.
