First images of New Balance 1906 with a Protection Pack feeling
After the success of the New Balance 2002R Protection Pack in 2021, New Balance is looking to add another sneaker to the line that is famous for its deconstructed look. It's not confirmed as of yet, but it looks like the 1906r is next in line to be added to the aforementioned pack.
In the images below we can see that the sneaker comes in mainly grey and off-white design. The materials on the shoe are mesh for the base layer and irregularly ripped-up suede on top of it to give the shoe a signature Protection Pack feel. The lateral heel tab read 1906D instead of the usual 1906R.
The heel cage comes in black just like the 'N' logo, outsole and sock liner. The logo also has a silver lining around it. The midsoles come in off-white and feature NB's ABZORB technology.
Earlier this month, images for two other 1906D 'Protection Pack' colorways were seen on Instagram. One of the pairs is mainly navy blue and grey with black details and off-white midsoles. The second pair is almost completely beige with a black midsole and outsole. You can see these images below together with the newest grey colorway.
The 1906 is a relatively new model, it debuted in 2009 and has been in the spotlight in recent times. NB recently released a colorway of the model in collaboration with thisisneverthat and a collab with size? was announced as well. Besides those two collabs, NB is also releasing four new colorways of the sneaker this year, 2022.
There are no confirmed release dates yet for any of the 'Protection Pack' colorways. However, they are rumored to be released later this year at New Balance. With a price tag of €150 most likely. Keep an eye out for more information on our news feed and release calendar!
