<p>The Air Jordan Spizike may not be the first sneaker you think of when hearing the Jordan label, but it is certainly a model with a special story. The sneaker was designed in 2006 in collaboration with director Spike Lee and basketball player Michael Jordan.</p>



<p>In 2024, the silhouette will appear in a new Low variant. Check out some of the colorways here.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Spike Lee</h2>



<p>In 2006, <a href="https://snkrjg.rs/aQW99Z" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nike</a> introduced a new silhouette: the Jordan Spizike. The sneaker paid tribute to the Mars Blackmon character, played by Spike Lee, who appeared in several Air Jordan commercials. The 'Spike and Mike' hybrid silhouette combined every sneaker Mars Blackmon wore, including the Air Jordan 3,4,5, and 6.</p>

<p>Spike Lee is a respected director inside and outside the sneaker culture. In addition to having directed several commercials for the Jordan Brand, Lee has also made his name with films such as 'Malcolm X' and 'Do the Right Thing'. A collaboration with the Jordan Brand was therefore a logical move by Nike.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air Jordan Spizike Low</h2>



<p>In 2024, the sneaker returned, but was given a new look. The Air Jordan Spizike arrived in a Low variant. At the beginning of the year, the <a href="https://www.sneakerjagers.com/en/s/air-jordan-spizike-low-chinese-new-year-fj6372-100/463181" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Air Jordan Spizike Low 'Chinese New Year 2024'</a> appeared, a sneaker that paid tribute to the year of the dragon. The bright blue <a href="https://www.sneakerjagers.com/en/s/air-jordan-spizike-low-houston-oilers-fq1759-400/463182" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">'Houston Oilers'</a> colorway and the <a href="https://www.sneakerjagers.com/en/s/air-jordan-spizike-low-bred-fq1759-006/464229" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">'Bred'</a> also made an appearance in 2024.</p>



<p>Now we see some colorways that will appear at Nike in the next few months. The <a href="https://www.sneakerjagers.com/en/s/air-jordan-spizike-low-obsidian-fq1759-104/440109" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">'Obsidian'</a> and <a href="https://www.sneakerjagers.com/en/s/air-jordan-spizike-low-team-red-fq1759-106/440108" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">'Team Red'</a> both drop on April 6, 2024. The <a href="https://www.sneakerjagers.com/en/s/air-jordan-spizike-low-coconut-milk-fq1759-100/440107" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">'Coconut Milk'</a> will also appear in 2024, although that sneaker's release date has not yet been confirmed.</p>

<p>The 'Obsidian' and 'Team Red' colorways both use the well-known elephant motif that is a hallmark of the Air Jordan 3, and the sneaker drops in full family size-run. Check out the official images of the sneakers below.</p>

The story behind the Air Jordan Spizike Low


<p>The first images of two possible new Jordan silhouettes have surfaced. The Jordan Spizike model appears in a low-top variant. We also see an Air Jordan 2/3 hybrid silhouette that uses the sole of the Air Jordan 3, combined with the upper of the Air Jordan 2. <em>Read more about Nike's new designs here.</em></p>



<p>In August 2023, it was announced that the <a href="https://snkrjg.rs/e73xV1">Jordan Brand</a> would bring back the Spizike. However, it was not yet known that the model would receive a Low-top variant as well. Now we see the first images of the Jordan Spizike Low in three different colorways.</p>



<p>Compared to the OG Jordan Spizike, the Low variant has a slightly calmer design. The sneaker uses the materials leather and mesh. The model seems to take inspiration from previous Jordan silhouettes. For example, we see elements of the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 3 reflected in the design. The sneaker appears in three colorways; 'Sail', 'Team Red', and 'Obsidian'.</p>



<p>The second Jordan silhouette, the Air Jordan 2/3, was first seen on the feet of former Nike designer Gentry Humphrey in April 2023. The sneaker comes with a sole swap of the two existing silhouettes. The upper reaches from the Air Jordan 2, while the Air unit comes from the Air Jordan 3. The hybrid silhouette appears in a 'White/Varsity Red' and a 'White/Black' colorway.</p>
