The adidas Rivalry silhouette was introduced in 1986 in both High and Low versions. The model was built primarily for basketball. At the time, adidas was already a well-known basketball brand. Basketball players admired silhouettes such as the Superstar, Top Ten, Campus, and adidas Forum.
The adidas Rivalry was created by Jacques Chassaing. Chassaing developed several adidas models, including the Forum, ZX series, and EQT line.
