Following the success of the 'Voltage Purple' colorway, which was presented in January 2024 by none other than Mbappé, Nike will release another new Mercurial on March 14, 2024. This time presented by Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid, the new design is inspired by the iconic Air Max Plus 'Sunset', which first appeared as one of the OG's in 1998.
This special edition also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Air Max Plus by combining the classic design with the latest technologies of the Nike Mercurial series.
Like the previous version, these shoes have the same features as the standard Mercurial football boots, with a Zoom Air unit and a Nike Flyknit upper for ultimate comfort and ball control. On top of this, the colorway of the Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite FG 'Sunset' features a colour gradient from deep red to bright orange, reminiscent of the classic "Sunset" look of the Air Max Plus.
We also see the characteristic wavy overlays of the Air Max Plus, which are held in black, just like the original. Furthermore, the iconic "TN" of the shoe has been replaced by a "ZM".
The Nike Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite FG 'Sunset' will be released on March 14th, 2024, at 9am at Nike and other retailers. The new Air Max Plus 'Sunset' is expected to be released in spring 2024. Stay up to date on these and other upcoming sneaker releases with our Sneakerjagers release calendar:
