Union LA gets ready for the Air Jordan 1 release

Chris Gibbs, founder of Union LA, is preparing for the next collaboration with Jordan Brand. A few months ago, the first images of the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High 'Chicago/Shadow' surfaced — a fusion of the duo's previous collaborations.
The Air Jordan 1 and Jordan Brand are celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2025. To mark this milestone, Union LA is bringing one of their iconic collaborations with Nike back to the shelves. In 2018, the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 'Black Toe' was released, quickly selling for thousands of euros on the resale market.
Now, the sneaker is making a return. Well, a variant of the release. In 2025, we can expect the Air Jordan 1 High 'Chicago/Shadow,' and it seems like the release is closer than we think. A website, www.unionjordanimback.com, has just gone live, hinting at the upcoming release.
Also on Instagram, Union LA is getting ready for the release, and we can see founder Chris Gibbs with the Union LA collab. It is still unknown when the sneaker will release, but it looks like we won't have to wait long.

A closer look at the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High ‘Chicago/Shadow’

We can now get a detailed look at the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Chicago/Shadow’, dear community! While back in August 2024 there were only rumours about this collaboration, October 2024 has seen the first images of the colorway. And remarkably, the design looks very similar to the earlier mock-up we saw in August.
This collaboration builds on the successful ‘Frankenstein’ theme of the previous 2018 Union LA x Air Jordan 1 releases. As previously mentioned, the new design combines the collar of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Shadow’ with the upper of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’. The powder blue stitching at the collar creates a striking contrast between these two colorways.
In addition, the sneaker has several other interesting details, such as a paper tongue label and a ‘yellowed’ midsole that adds to the vintage look. The insole features illustrations referring to the design process, which makes my heart beat faster.
According to preliminary information, the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG is scheduled for a release on 12 February 2025, although this date has not yet been officially confirmed by Jordan Brand or Union LA. Union LA will drop the Air Jordan 1 High 'Chicago/Shadow' in 2025

Union Los Angeles returns with a new version of the Air Jordan 1: the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Chicago' colorway. This collaboration builds on the successful 2018 theme that combined two original Air Jordan 1 colorways into one design.
In fall 2018, Union dropped two colorways, merging signature colorways into one Air Jordan 1 design. The first featured a 'Black Toe' front with a 'Neutral Grey' collar, while the second featured a 'Storm Blue' front with a 'Bred' collar.
The new Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High 'Chicago/Shadow' builds on this concept. The upper combines the classic 'Chicago' and 'Shadow' colorways. The front of the sneaker showcases the vibrant red, white, and black colors of the 'Chicago'. While the back transitions into the gray and black hues of the 'Shadow'.
The design also has many details, such as exposed stitching and a yellowed midsole for a vintage look. Which is characteristic of Union LA. Finally, the tongue includes a unique label with the Union LA and Air Jordan logos. Check out a mock-up of the sneaker below!
