The biggest and most talked-about festival in the world is currently taking place in the United States: Coachella. During this 6-day festival in the Colorado Desert in California, the world’s biggest artists perform, with all your favorite influencers in the crowd—often sponsored, of course. Among this year’s headliners are names like Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, Green Day, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, and—naturally—Travis Scott.

For the first time since 2017, the Houston-born artist returned as one of the headliners (and even designed the stage) for the festival, going all out for the occasion. His partner in crime, Nike, naturally couldn’t be left out.

'The Village'

For his performance, the artist designed his own stage, called The Village. The set, consisting of abstract, dynamic, and industrial elements, perfectly matched his show, in which he played tracks from both his older albums as well as covers from Playboi Carti’s recent album Music and a variation of Drake’s Nokia.

Scott kicked off his set with a 60-piece brass band, performing Crush from Carti’s latest album and Aye from Lil Uzi Vert’s album Pink Tape. This was followed by two unreleased tracks: Oh Jacques and She Going Dumb, which we can most likely expect on Jackboys 2.

Throughout his performance, the rapper was seen on a large platform, surrounded by dancing performers suspended from the ceiling. Dressed in a Chrome Hearts harness—naturally paired with his own Nike sneakers—the artist electrified the crowd like no other with his unique performance style.

His set also featured tracks like Sicko Mode, Type Shit, Modern Jam, Backr00ms, Goosebumps, Telekinesis, and Fe!n—which, for a change, he only performed twice this time.

Nike

In addition to his performance, the rapper also teased a possible drop of his next Nike collab on Instagram. With the cryptic caption “I HAVE SOMWTHING SPECIAL FOR YA ON SUNDAY” under his post, Travis left fans eagerly wondering whether the release of the Jordan Jumpman Jack would take place during Coachella.

Travis isn’t shy about sneaker drops during his performances. During his Grammy performance last year, he released his first signature sneaker: the Jordan Jumpman Jack. His Astroworld festival also featured several planned releases.

For now, it hasn’t been officially confirmed whether a release will happen this weekend. However, it’s highly likely that it involves the Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack ‘Bright Cactus’, which is expected to drop later this year via Nike.

Coachella’s first weekend may have come to an end, but next weekend it’s time for round two (possibly featuring Travis’ sneaker release). Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates.
