Every year during Air Max Day, it is a surprise whether Nike will unveil an all-new model or revive a beloved classic. After the return of a classic Air Max 1 and the introduction of the Air Max Pulse last year in 2023, a brand new silhouette will take centre stage on 26 March 2024. Namely, the Nike Air Max DN!
The Air Max DN is a sneaker design that seamlessly combines a series of historical Nike elements with a modern futuristic twist. The most prominent feature is the Air Unit, made up of four large round pods, also known as Dynamic Air. This new technology consists of two chambers, with the rear two tubes having a higher pressure (15 psi) and the front two a lower pressure (5 psi). As you move, air flows freely between the tubes in each chamber.
"We call it 'dynamic motion'," says Reggie Hunter, Product Director of Nike Lifestyle Footwear. "The independent arrangement of the chambers means the air unit can respond to your body's load with each step. The feel of heel-to-toe movement is seamless as the air unit interacts and moves with your foot in real time. The Nike Air Max Dn was the first time we could unlock that feeling."
Several colour variants of the Air Max DN model are expected to be planned for 2024, with the very first one, the Air Max DN 'Dark Smoke Grey', thus available during Air Max Day 2024 in March. The launch will take place through Nike and selected retailers.
