Patta and Converse have teamed up once again, releasing two colorways of the classic Chuck 70 in early December. This is not the first collaboration between the two brands. Since 2009, they have been behind various releases with a wide range of designs.
Golden duo
The Amsterdam-based label is dominating the sneaker industry this year. Following the successful return of the Air Max 1 'Chlorophyll' this fall, it was announced that the Air Max 90 will also receive the 'Wave' treatment in 2025. And now, just as 2024 is coming to a close, Patta is releasing an extensive collection with an old familiar: Converse.
The two brands are no strangers to each other. To celebrate Patta's 5th anniversary, Converse teamed up with the label in 2009, alongside the Amsterdam-based band Le Le, consisting of Rimeroni, Parra, and Faberyayo. The first collaboration featured two sneakers: the Chuck Taylor Hi and the Pro Leather 76.
The partnership led to more collaborations, and exactly five years later, the duo released an extensive sneaker pack. To mark Patta's 10th anniversary, Converse unveiled ten Chuck 70 colorways that combined white, black, green, blue, and red. This was a special release for a select audience, as only Patta employees and 'friends & family' could get their hands on the sneakers.
In 2017, the two brands joined forces once again, this time with the help of Deviation, a night event hosted by Benji B in London. The three parties came together to release three sneakers: the Converse Chuck 70 Low, Converse One Star, and the One Star Court Classic, each dressed in raw suede.
This brings us to the past three years. In 2022, the next triple collaboration dropped, with Experimental Jetset joining the dynamic duo. The collaboration featured an abstract Chuck 70 and accompanying apparel. Less than a year later, Converse and Patta released the One Star Pro 'Four-Leaf Clover,' starring singer Erykah Badu as the face of the campaign.
Patta x Converse 2024
At the beginning of 2024, the Chuck 70 Marquis was released in a 'Camo' colorway, alongside the Converse Weapon, as part of a pack. The 'Rain or Shine' campaign, captured by renowned photographer Caleb Femi, showcased the two colorways with matching apparel and had an almost poetic feel.
For the next collaboration, the focus shifts back to one of the most exclusive collabs of recent years, namely the 2014 release. This upcoming release not only features the same silhouette as that collaboration but also brings back the signature colors from that iconic drop.
The Patta x Converse Chuck 70 drops in two colorways: 'Neutral Ivory' and 'Black.' Both versions feature the P-monogram, referencing Patta's logo. The sneakers have already dropped at Patta, but they will also be available at Converse on December 10, 2024, in case you missed out.
