The North Face will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the well-known Nuptse jacket in 2022. The jacket was first released in 1992 and has gained a worthy cult status over the decades. For the 30th anniversary, the jacket comes in three new colorways.
The North Face
The North Face is a well-known outdoor brand founded in 1966. Hiking fanatics Douglas Tompkins and Susie Tompkins decided to make their passion their profession and opened their first mountaineering shop. The North Face gets its name from the coldest point of a mountain, but was oddly enough founded in San Francisco.
In the years since opening its first shop, The North Face has gained branches across America. Offering high-quality items for mountain and winter sports, the brand was soon picked up by professional athletes and mountaineers. In the 1960s, TNF started sponsoring expeditions to the most pristine corners of the world. This is where the motto "Never Stop Exploring™" was born.
Besides covering mountain climbers and athletes, The North Face is also popular outside the world of extreme sports these days. The brand is performance-oriented, but nowadays also sells lifestyle items. In addition, TNF's winter jackets with their thick lining are very suitable for cold winters, including the well-known Nuptse jacket.

The Nuptse jacket from The North Face was introduced in 1992 as part of a leading Expedition system. Designed to guide climbers to the world's highest peaks, the jacket features innovative technologies. With its down pocket construction, the Nuptse jacket is one of a kind and keeps the body well warm.
The narrow dividers between the down pockets reduce the down's ability to move around inside the jacket. This way, the jacket does not lose heat. No wonder the Nuptse jacket is a popular item among climbers. The jacket is named after one of the Nepalese peaks in the Himalayan climbing region.

TNF '92 Nuptse collection
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nuptse jacket, The North Face is coming out with the '92 Nuptse collection. In this collection, the Nuptse jacket gets three new variants; a blue, red and black and white spotted colorway. An eye-catching detail on the updated Nuptse jacket, is the patch on the sleeve.
The new collection stays close to the classic silhouette of the 1992 The North Face Nuptse and comes with matching longsleeves. The number '92 is a recurring element in the collection and hints at the year the Nuptse jacket was introduced.
The '90 Nuptse collection was released at The North Face on 30 November 2022 and several sizes are still available. Check out the official photos from the campaign below. The entire collection will also be dropped at BSTN on 2 December 2022.
